San Francisco Romantic Spots

When you think of romantic cities, your first thought may be Paris. You might also think of carriage rides in Central Park or taking a gondola through Venice. Although there’s no arguing that those cities definitely provide ample options for romance, we think it’s worth pointing out that there are plenty of San Francisco romantic spots, and it’s a great city for lovers too. Whether you meet your special someone here or move to San Francisco with your spouse, the following romantic activities are sure to keep that spark alive.

A Stroll across the Golden Gate Bridge

There’s no doubt that the Golden Gate Bridge is one of the most iconic in the entire world. At 1.7 miles long, it also provides you with a good walking distance too. While many people take advantage of this for fitness reasons, it also gives you plenty of time to spend with a loved one while you take a romantic stroll.

The bridge remains open to pedestrians during daylight hours, meaning you won’t have any problem taking in some spectacular views or getting a photo taken with such a beautiful backdrop.

A Meal at Top of the Mark

San Francisco is a city surrounded by gorgeous vistas and breathtaking views. Often, you don’t even need a specific vantage point to see something beautiful in this unique town.

However, if you want a view that will leave your loved one speechless, it’s worth climbing Nob Hill. At the top, you’ll have a panoramic view of San Francisco fit for any postcard.

With reservations at Top of the Mark, you can get more than that though. You can also get an amazing meal at the same time. It’s not like you’ll be getting some generic view either. Top of the Mark is located on the 19th floor of the InterContinental Mark Hopkins hotel, hence its name. Get dinner reservations for that incredible view, a superb martini bar and live entertainment.

Cliff House for Breakfast

Speaking of food, if your loved one is a fan of brunch, you’ll want to take them to Cliff House. Whereas Top of the Mark gives you an incredible angle on the city, Cliff House will show you the gorgeous Pacific Ocean. You’ll get to see the expanse of blue, waves crashing against the rocks at Ocean Beach and even seals as they dip in and out of the water.

Stop by on Sunday to enjoy the restaurant’s champagne brunch buffet, then head out on the beach for a romantic stroll. Since 1863, this San Francisco eatery has been offering one of the best dining experiences in town.

Conservatory of Flowers

Golden Gate Park does not disappoint no matter what you’re in the mood for. That means if you want to put a smile on your loved one’s face, you can’t go wrong with this iconic San Francisco locale.

Of the many things to do and see there, the Conservatory of Flowers is probably most romantic. Obviously, the flowers are the main attraction, with all types of rare and exotic species grown here.

However, it’s tough not to be distracted by the conservatory’s gorgeous Victorian architecture. Despite the fact that it was built in 1878 (and survived an earthquake in 1906), this structure is still as beautiful as ever.

Take in a Show

One thing this city definitely does not lack for is entertainment venues. Instead of going the boring route, though, and just seeing a movie, consider all the live theater you can find here. Anything from comedy to Shakespeare can be found just about every night of the week.

Although San Francisco has tons to offer people of every walk of life, it should really be given credit as a romantic locale. If you’re moving here in the near future, be sure to spend some time taking in one of the above locations with your special someone.
